With modern hybrid cloud environments, microservices architecture, and data lakes / warehouses securing data is more important than ever but more difficult as well given the wide array of technologies and data formats involved. Regulatory constraints regarding privacy, compliance, data locality, etc., have to be considered as well. How do we properly secure our data (do we even know where it all is?) when, as a fungible asset, it can be replicated and copied fairly easily? How do we effectively but securely share data across the enterprise and with 3rd parties?
In this session, you will learn some of the key best practices for securing data, how to craft and enforce security policies, how to measure data security risks as well as technologies that can/should be employed.

We will review the tenets of the request, the issues encountered, what it took to fulfill the request, and what could have been done differently to provide a smoother fulfillment of the request and assure that the completed request met the Business functional area needs.
